Peter Skovgaard

Peter Skovgaard is a Danish painter known for his abstract compositions full of movement, light, and intense color.

Working primarily in oil on canvas or paper, his dynamic brushstrokes, splashes, and scribbles unfold like visual jazz—chaotic yet controlled.

Particularly striking are his large-scale paper pieces, measuring 150×100 cm, where oil interacts with the paper’s surface to create a vivid, almost breathing texture.
Mounted in dark wooden frames with floating glass, the works gain a sculptural quality. They are at once raw and refined—capturing a moment in motion, held still in time.
